[EN]Sensitive to death and the caducity of reality; curious and attracted to the unknown, Riccardo Androni is interested in the fragile and mysterious human nature. Photography, video and performance have proven to be a privileged means by which to detect patterns of intrinsic meaning to reality. Lately, he has been exploring the technique of representation through an interdisciplinary approach. In his spare time he enjoys watching independent films and reading.

Born in Bergamo and based in Venice, Riccardo studied photography at LABA in Florence and attended a first level master's degree in MOVIES - Moving Images Arts at IUAV, in Venice. He is currently enrolled in Scuola Cònia, directed by Claudia Castellucci.

He exhibited at Young Italian Photographer Biennial and Portfolio Italia, and won the 2nd prize at XXII FotoConfronti. Currently exhibiting at Palazzetto Tito in Venice as part of DEBRIS exhibition, curated by Peter Welz.

[IT]Sensibile alla morte e alla caducità del reale. Curioso e attratto dall’ignoto indaga la fragile e misteriosa natura umana. La fotografia, il video e la performance si sono rivelati un mezzo privilegiato attraverso cui rilevare schemi di significato intrinseci la realtà. Ultimamente esplora la tecnica della rappresentazione attraverso un approccio interdisciplinare. Nel tempo libero ama guardare guardare film indipendenti e leggere.

Bergamasco a Venezia. Ha studiato fotografia alla LABA, a Firenze e frequentato un master di I livello in MOVIES - Moving Images Arts allo IUAV, a Venezia. Attualmente è iscritto a Scuola Cònia, diretta da Claudia Castellucci e si trova in residenza artistica presso FABRICA.

Ha esposto alla Biennale Giovani Fotografi Italiani, esposto a Portfolio Italia e vinto il II premio al XXII FotoConfonti. Attualmente espone presso Palazzetto Tito, a Venezia, all'interno della mostra DEBRIS, curata da Peter Welz.

[EN]»The fundamental subject of The Myth of Sisyphus is this: it is legitimate and necessary to wonder whether life has a meaning; therefore it is legitimate to meet the problem of suicide face to face.« — Albert Camus

»Sisyphus / 1st movement« explores the theme of Sisyphus through the unusual, evocative interpretation that philosopher and writer Albert Camus gave of the myth in his essay The Myth of Sisyphus. Sisyphus is condemned to roll a rock to the top of a mountain, only to have the rock roll back down to the bottom every time he reaches the top. The opera investigates the paralysis of the will throught the paradox, the absurd, and the utopia, enlightening how it is possible nowadays to rediscover the meaning of happiness by staying in the trouble and fighting for life. The performance focuses on the concept of the obstacle and how to deal with it.

»Sisifo / 1° movimento« esplora il tema di Sisifo attraverso l’insolita e suggestiva interpretazione che il filosofo e scrittore Albert Camus ha dato del mito, nel suo saggio Il Mito di Sisifo. Indaga il paradosso, l’assurdo e l’utopia evidenziando come sia possibile, al giorno d’oggi, riscoprire il senso della felicità restando nelle difficoltà, lottando per la vita. La performance si concentra sul concetto dell’ ostacolo e su come affrontarlo.
