Merry Fabrica returns on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th December, two days of shopping, workshops, exhibitions, music, street food and lots of creativity.

An unmissable opportunity for those who want to look for original gift ideas or simply spend time in the company of their friends immersed in the beautiful architecture of Tadao Ando.

Over 60 selected makers – all with particular attention to the responsible use of materials – and a very wide range of products: clothing, bijoux, fashion accessories, floral art, children’s items, design and furnishing objects, ceramics, art prints, serigraphs, stationary, illustrations, books, organic products, artisanal sweets, seeds for urban agriculture.

Saturday, December 16

From 11am to 12:30pm
“Big ideas for little scientists”, workshop for children organized by M9Edu – Educational Department of M9 – Museo del ‘900.
Using Lego®WeDo 2.0 kits, children and parents will learn to build and give life to small educational robots, to think with the mind of a scientist, to design a logical process and a project, defining the various development steps.
Open to children aged 5 to 11 accompanied by one parent.

From 2pm to 4pm
“Second Hand with Needle & Thread”, workshop for adults with the illustrator Juls Criveller.
The goal is to give a second life to an old item forgotten in the wardrobe by embellishing it with a simple embroidery stitch and learning the techniques of creative embroidery.
The course is suitable for everyone, even those who have never attempted embroidery or sewing.

From 5.30pm to 6.30pm
“Choirs of an Earth”, musical performance by Josephine Illingworth-Law, a young English creative, currently in residence at Fabrica.
Drawing on her upbringing singing in chapel choirs and as a catholic chorister, these pieces use the choir as a collective method to weave together both human and non-human voices, melding field recordings and layered vocals in an attempt to redefine the perceived separateness of human and nature.

“Ana Roxanne in concert”, live concert by the American musician who makes incredibly intimate pieces of music that combine R&B sounds, calming ambient soundscapes and angelic voices.

Sunday, December 17th

From 11am to 12pm, Auditorium
“Libricina”, reading-show by Zelda Teatro.
Not a simple animated reading, but a real participatory show in which children will interact with Libricina to discover the enchanted world of books. The actress will help them appreciate physical books and their different forms to develop their imaginative ability and become active and free readers.
Open to children aged 5 to 11 accompanied by one parent.

From 11am to 12:30pm
“Postcards and Japanese binding”, creative workshop for adults with YUUY.
The postcard, a wonderful paper object bringing greetings, hugs, words and stories of far away places, transforms itself. The workshop will guide participants in the creation of a notebook using a Japanese binding technique. All the materials will be provided by the organization. Participants can bring a postcard to bind.

The course is suitable for everyone.

From 2pm to 4pm
“From metal to paper”, workshop organized by Doppiofondo, a Venetian art printing laboratory.
After a short presentation of the history of art print by the Doppiofondo artists, participants will be able to create one or more prints using different types of matrices. They will also be guided in the various printing phases: preparation and wetting of the paper, inking of the matrix and printing with the press.
The workshop is suitable for everyone.

From 4.30pm to 6pm
“Contact Jam”, dance performance with Allison Costa, a young creative currently in residence at Fabrica and a group of dancers from the Centro Teatrale di Ricerca (CTR), a space for research and artistic creation created by costume designer Sonia Biacchi at the Giudecca island, in Venice. Music and video projections by Fabrica.
